The western Algarve is where most serious training groups base themselves, and for good reason. The Foia climb, fast coastal roads between Lagos and Sagres, and enough route variety to fill ten days without repeating yourself. If you are coming to the Algarve to train, this is your corner.

Flatter, faster, and well-suited to triathlon prep and tempo work. The roads around Vilamoura are popular with athletes targeting the region's spring triathlon events. Albufeira sits in the middle of the coast and gives you easy access to both eastern and western routes from one base.
