What Is Included With Your Velo Algarve Bike

A road bike rental in the Algarve with everything included should leave you packing very little. Every Velo Algarve rental arrives with the Cervélo Soloist set up to your measurements, a stocked saddle bag under the seat, an Elite Fly bottle and a gel on board, your pedal system fitted and a Garmin or Wahoo mount ready for your head unit. Here is the itemised list, and the short list of what to bring yourself.

What Comes With Every Rental

1. The Cervélo Soloist, set up to your numbers

The fleet is a single model in six frame sizes from 48 to 61: an all-carbon aero frame with SRAM Force eTap AXS, a power meter on the crank, Reserve 42/49 wheels and Vittoria Corsa N.EXT 29mm tubeless tyres. One bike per rider, and the whole fleet is replaced every season, so nothing you ride has done a winter of hire miles.

The saddle height is pre-set from the inseam you give us before we load the van, then confirmed with you in person at delivery. Send us your numbers in advance and it arrives right rather than approximately right.

2. The saddle bag kit

Under the seat on every bike, checked before every delivery: a TPU inner tube (checked in date, not a tube that has been in the bag since March), a multitool, a spare AXS battery, and a mini electric pump rather than a hand pump, so reinflating a tyre at the roadside takes seconds and no effort.

That kit is why a puncture on the road to Monchique costs you fifteen minutes rather than your day. We walk you through all of it at handover.

3. An Elite Fly bottle and a gel

One Elite Fly bottle, filled, and one energy gel on the bike when it arrives. Enough to get you out of the door and onto the first climb without a supermarket stop.

4. Your pedal system, fitted

We stock Look KEO and Shimano SPD-SL and fit whichever you select when you book. If you would rather ride your own pedals, bring them and we will fit those at delivery instead. Either way, this is sorted before we arrive rather than in a hotel car park.

5. The routes

Curated GPX routes for the roads we actually ride, matched to the areas and climbs you said you wanted, sent across before you arrive so they are on your head unit before the bike is.

6. A Garmin or Wahoo mount, fitted

Tell us which head unit you ride and we fit the matching mount before the bike leaves the workshop. You arrive, clip your own unit on, and go. No zip ties, no borrowed out-front bracket that does not fit your model.

7. The fit, the walkthrough and the collection

The handover runs 30 to 45 minutes. You clip in, we adjust saddle height, fore and aft and bar reach until it is right, walk you through the shifting and the saddle bag, and send you 50 metres up the road to check. At the end of the rental we collect from your door. Neither of those is an extra.

What to Bring Yourself

Four things, and they are all things riders prefer to use their own of anyway:

• A second bottle, if you drink more than one on a long day. There is a cage waiting for it.
• Your helmet. Fit matters too much on a helmet to hand you an unfamiliar one.
• Your shoes, with your cleats already set where you like them.
• Your head unit. Tell us whether it is a Garmin or a Wahoo and the right mount is on the bike before you arrive.

Delivery is charged separately from the daily rate according to distance. Everything above in the included list is not.

What should I pack myself?

Four things: a second bottle if you drink more than one on a long day, your helmet, your shoes with your own cleats already set, and your GPS head unit. Everything else that touches the bike is handled, including the pedals, which we fit to your system.

Can I use my own pedals and saddle?

Yes. We stock Look KEO and Shimano SPD-SL and fit whichever you specify, but you are welcome to bring your own pedals and we will fit them at delivery. If you ride a specific saddle, tell your concierge when they get in touch so we can plan for it before the bike is prepared.
